Dan Metcalfe
Dan has a dynamic history of developing players. His approach is beyond the skills. From mental strength building to confidence, skills to enhance natural ability, game knowledge for improved performance. Often, we avoid the truth, but the magic we seek is in the work we avoid. Caring, real depth insights, and positive reinforcement through sticking points, Dan’s guidance is far beyond the game itself.
What we learn transcends the field and becomes part of our everyday life. How, what, and who we are. Dan has mentored and trained National Team Players, Olympians, Pros from Europe to the US, College, Club and AYSO players. Every level has its own devil and we must overcome the hurdles. Who helps you learn will determine your success.
It's so important to develop life skills, and a competitive edge, at all ages. In fact, the younger we start, the better. Legends on a mission. This iconic photo captures the powerhouse lineup behind Nickelodeon’s groundbreaking reality series, Soccer Superstar — the first-ever reality TV show dedicated to girls’ soccer in the U.S. From left to right:
Heather Mitts – Three-time Olympic gold medalist and host of the series, bringing charisma, insight, and experience to the national spotlight. Her contribution to the rise of female soccer players is undeniable as she continues to advocate for all girls' dreams.
Dan Metcalfe – World-renowned youth development expert, Nike Youth Coach of the Year, mentor to professional and youth elite players, and known for his passion for coaching and identifying rising talent; a driving force in guiding players toward their full potential.
Angela Hucles – Two-time Olympic gold medalist and advocate for women in sports, offering mentorship and tactical insight to the young hopefuls. Part of the founding team for Angel City F.C. professional women’s club, and TV commentator for the World Cup.
Marcelo Balboa – National Soccer Hall of Famer and U.S. Men’s National Team legend, lending his world-class perspective to the judging panel. Expert commentator on Spanish television, with insights into coaching in the professional game with Colorado Rapids.
Together, this dream team of experts traveled coast to coast — from Florida to California — on a mission to discover America’s next top teen female soccer player. The show aired for two seasons on Nicktoons as part of the NickSports block, launching right after the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final.
