History of Company

World Class Enterprises was formed in 2001. Located in Westlake Village, California, DMS11 and WCE are dedicated to bringing the best in quality soccer products and entertainment to the soccer world.

Dan originated the concept of the Super Soccer Skills DVD series back in 1996. He was coaching in Las Vegas and there were not enough hours in the day to work with all the players trying to get the information his unique coaching style was demanding. Dan set about creating a new, easy and thorough teaching technique that would be easily accessible and comprehended by any player of any age. The misconception that Dan came across was the belief that young players were limited in their ability to learn technical moves. If anything, young players were more receptive to correctly perform soccer skills as they had not yet learned bad habits which would need to be broken. Young players were also more excited about copying the professionals and as such grew in confidence beyond belief.

Another misconception was that older players could do all the skills correctly. They were often missing small details within the skills that were stopping the older player from successfully using the specific skill. So was born the Super Soccer Skills title. The success was so huge that WCE quickly followed the original title with Advancing the Skills and Just Kickin It. Dan received the NIKE YOUTH COACH OF THE YEAR award at the Anaheim Convention Center by CYSA-S. This recognition of his contribution through teaching soccer to the youth of today came on the heels of the new concept, and first coaching DVD, Coaching Kids with Confidence. Dan sees the future of soccer in the hands of the Coaches. Talent is given to us to develop, and with ever increasing demand for good coaches WCE has brought the Coaches an exciting opportunity to believe in themselves and their own abilities to understand and be creative in their soccer teaching.

WCE also added Joseph Metcalfe to the list of talent at WCE. Joseph is the in house Composer. He has brought a new, exciting aspect ignored previously in instructional DVD's. Rather than Library music, Joseph wrote music specific to the energy and vision of the instruction. Joe has written music for many top shows and movies including BBC, Five, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Sony Pictures, ABC and MTV to name a few.

WCE was constantly asked for specific instructional training for Goalkeepers. Answering the call of all soccer players, WCE searched for the best Goalkeeper trainer in the US. We found that person. Ian Feuer, professional Goalkeeper, had the perfect teaching ability that is needed to teach via DVD. Not every professional player can also teach what they have learned. Ian can. Having played in the English Premier League with West Ham United, and other English clubs, Wimbledon, Luton Town, Derby County and at Arsenal to name a few, Ian turned to Coaching. He returned to his home land of America, where he had starred in the MLS with Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution. Ian quickly established himself as one of the Premier Goalkeeper trainers in the US, working with the Olympic Development Program and accepting the Head Goalkeeping Coaching position with the US Women's National team. He is also the Head Goalkeeper Coach for the Los Angeles Galaxy. Ian brings a wealth of experience to the Goalkeeping Department of DMS11.

Dan Metcalfe

Dan was brought over from England to Coach the US Stars of Tomorrow. He had played at various English Clubs as a youth player, progressing to playing with the Pros. He was always passionate about learning more about the game itself, learning what made great players great, and top Coaches the best. Dan retired from soccer at an early age and moved into show business. However, soccer had been the biggest part of his life and could not be left behind. Dan started a celebrity charity football team in London where he was also starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight express. Dan toured Japan with the same show, and was offered the chance to join the J League as a professional player. During his travels Dan also got to train with VFL Bochum in the German Bundesliga. No matter where Dan travelled, soccer kept pulling him back to his roots.

Deciding to move to the USA was the final piece of his soccer career. Dan was recruited to join a top soccer academy in California and gave up one summer to teach in the land of the ever present sun. He fell in love with the soccer players passion and desire to learn. He then moved to Las Vegas to Star in the Hilton's Hit show, again, Starlight Express. Dan was asked to help with the Nevada soccer community when not performing in the evenings, and accepted the Head coaching position for the Nevada Olympic Development Program boys team. After two years, Dan returned to California, as Staff Coach with the REGIONAL Olympic Development Program. He also worked with Cal South ODP teams.

The Super Soccer Skills series was created back in Las Vegas, atleast in concept. With contant re-evalution and studying learning and teaching techniques, by the time the Super Soccer Skills series was shot, Dan had perfected the easiest, quickest and most successful method for teaching young players. The series had immediate success with its debut TV Infomercial campaign. It fly into retail stores and Dan appeared on QVC with the only soccer DVD's ever to be accepted onto the hit retail TV station.

Dan continued his rise in soccer with Ventura City College, ran his own camps bringing in College Coaches to expose players to the highest level, and coaching his Club team to the #1 ranking in the USA. As Head Coach of the Cal South ODP boys 87's, Dan trained 18 regional players, and National team players. He has trained numerous Male and Female players that now grace the fields representing their Country, Region, State and College. Dan is now the Director of Coaching for the Rampage Football Club while working closely with the MLS and National Teams.

Dan was approached this year by the L.A. Galaxy to potentially join their coaching Staff. Dan has also been offered a Coaching role at the David Beckham Academy in Los Angeles.

Dan is proud to have placed players with the MLS youth program at Chivas USA, the National Team Residency Program in Florida, and on this years National teams that have competed and won tournaments against International Competition. (2005)

The call of the Show business world is never far away in California. Dan has starred in numerous National and International Soccer Commercials. He has starred in MLS All Sport, Nike, Snickers, Champion, Reebok and Coca Cola commercials to name a few. He was the Soccer Specialist for Commercials for the 2002 WORLD CUP for Nike and Yahoo.com, in which he starred. His experience as a Soccer Player and Actor have led to even bigger projects.

In 2004 Dan was signed by Universal Pictures to run the Soccer Department for the new movie, KICKING and SCREAMING starring Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall. His position required him to train the Star Actors. These included Josh Hutcherson (Zathura, Little Manhatten) Steven Lawrence (Beans - Evens Stevens), Dylan McLaughlin and Elliot Cho (Kicking and Screaming).

These actors had never played soccer before and it was Dan's job to get them ready to star as soccer players.
Dan also worked closely with Robert Duvall to help the coaching be realistic for the movie. As Mr Duvall said, "The movie could not have been done without Dan".

Dan also had to find over 140 soccer players under the age of 12. These players would make up the 12 teams that would be the backbone of the soccer field. Dan held tryouts throughout Southern California, and received resumes from players all over the USA. Even players from Europe were sending in their tapes and pictures.
The training camps were divided into 2 teams at a time, 2 hours each, 3 days a week. This went on for 3 weeks, where Dan would teach the skills needed for each scene, and then the actual choreography for the specific plays. Dan also worked closely with the writers to make sure they could get as much of the story correct from a soccer perspective.

Dan also appeared in the movie as Will Ferrell's nightmare. Dan was the Soccer Coach who takes Will on a journey into the future. Will is watching the Super Soccer Skills DVD in the movie and Dan appears to him. Unfortunately, the scenes got left on the cutting room floor as they were considered too scary for young kids, but Dan had a great time shooting again as an Actor. However, the Super Soccer Skills DVD's are featured by Will Ferrell as he hands them out during a slumber party he has for his team. See if you can spot them in the movie. He also talks about SOCCER DAN. That was the name that was given to Dan on set, and is now the Industry Name for Dan Metcalfe.

Dan had the toughest task in finding 2 Italian Boys to play the soccer stars of the movie. Universal sent Dan on a worldwide search for the best two Italian looking soccer players available. Again, every soccer player seemed to show up or write in and Dan went trough thousands of players. He had help from Karen Sparks at Coast Soccer League, Gordon Jago from Dallas Cup, Simon Clifford from England (Bend it like Beckham) plus thousands of parents who admired their kids playing.

Dan finally narrowed the field down to 6 players. There were two excellent players from Maryland who could play the brothers, but for true authenticity the final selection came from Italy itself. Francesco Liotti and Alessandro Ruggiero were chosen to play the soccer stars. It was Dan's biggest task, to make sure that these players could perform all the top tricks and plays that the professionals do. Dan worked for over a month every day with these two Italian maestros and it was unbelievable to see how well they progressed. these two small boys became movie stars for a few months, but soccer stars for their lives. They returned to Italy with new found skills and the ability to believe they can achieve anything in life if they work hard and have the best teaching. You can see a lot of the footage of the camps and filming on the Kicking and Screaming DVD Special Features.

Dan finished shooting the feature for DREAMWORKS in Canada. The movie, Shes The Man released in 2006, stars Amanda Bynes (The Amanda Show) and Channing Tatum (Coach Carter). Dan worked his magic with these non soccer playing Actors. He taught the basics in the same way he teaches in the Super Soccer Skills series. Dan also worked with 50 high level players from College and National teams as support for the main actors in the soccer games. You will be able to see more of Dan's training in the special features when the DVD is released.

Dan appeared on Fox Soccer Channel, where he presented his methods for training Amanda and Channing in particular. Dan also had to teach Channing how to teach Amanda for the soccer scenes in which Channing was showing Amanda shooting techniques. Again, he based all his teaching on the information in the DMS11 Just Kickin It DVD.

Dan is now back to teaching the game he loves to the real stars of the game, the young players. He loves the energy, receptiveness and progress that all young players make with the DMS11 instruction.

The DMS11 Training System has its own team. TEAM DMS11. You can find out much more about their unprecedented successes by visiting www.DMS11.com
